Greg Asciutto is an English teacher at Garinger High School, as well as Chair of the CharlotteEAST Board of Directors. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in Journalism, he returned to his native North Carolina in 2014 with a desire to teach and live in East Charlotte. Greg is passionate about building local and statewide partnerships that foster educational and economic opportunities for local youth and their families.

His work at the intersection of education, community-building, and poverty alleviation has garnered him recognition both inside and outside of classroom; he has been named a 2018 CMS Teacher of the Year, the 2019 United Way of Central Carolinas’ Civil Servant of the Year, one of Elevate Lifestyle’s 30 under 30 Charlotte Leaders, and the 2023 City of Charlotte’s Educator Mentor of the Year.
