Gata Katz

Gata Katz (Agata Kolodziej) is a Polish singer and songwriter. She moved to England in 2011 and currently lives in Manchester. She started singing when she was very young. "When I got a microphone in my hand for the first time I was about 5, then I realised that I want to perform." - She says. Gata had been encouraged to sing by her parents during all her childhood; when she was 14 she joined a choir and for three years she has been performing in main Polish cities. She has been learning to play the keyboard too. After a few years break from singing, she realised that being a soloist will fulfil her dreams. She performed at a few concerts in the main cultural centres in her city, Lodz. Her contagious smile and original vocal style always gathers people around her. A fan of such diverse artists as Ray Charles, Beirut and Lianne La Havas she is also influenced by electronic music artists like Bonobo or Little Dragon. Gata is currently working on her own songs to release on the Internet soon. She's hoping to gain recognition in the future music industry. Her aim is to be in an electronic band one day or perform in a duet with a music producer, although she is open for any kind of collaborations with other musicians.
