Grace Gathoni is a student at North Carolina Central University, majoring in BSc. Nursing. She is also a mother of two and a wife. She was born in Kenya in the year 1985 in a family of four. She was the youngest of the four siblings.
Grace grew up in a small town called Githumu in central part of Kenya. When she was five, she attended a kindergarten school in Githumu and later joined primary school in 1992 when she was six. The Kenyan primary school system takes eight years and Grace was successful to complete her primary education successfully and proceed to Ruchu girls high school in 2001-2004 (the Kenyan high school system takes four years) and earned her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE). While in high school Grace was determined to do nursing and she applied for admission in Nursing School as soon as she graduated from high school. After high school Grace got her first job as a sales person in a local Salon for a year and half. In 2007, she was lucky to receive admission letter to join Kenya Medical Training College. While in college, she always dreamed of going to America so she applied for the yearly green card lottery and luckily was accepted in the year of 2008. Unfortunately, she had to drop college to pursue her dreams of migrating to America. In July 2009, she finally made it to America- the most beautiful country on earth.
Grace is currently living in Durham North Carolina where she met her loving husband Kennedy and have been blessed with two beautiful children Yvonne and Elvis. Grace is still pursuing her dream career in nursing and is a student at North Carolina Central University. Some of Her interests are listening to music, reading, travelling and cooking.
