I find myself positioned in the connections between design and context, architecture and building, and conflict and community. The spaces in-between (in-between realism and academics, practice and policy, builder and architect) seem the most relevant in today's multicultural, cosmopolitan and interdisciplinary world.
Addressing issues in such in-between spaces requires a unique perspective. As a result i am pursuing a variety of work and research, both at the academic and personal level in order to understand how each body of work can contribute towards a larger picture of a holistic built environment.
At my own architecture practice, we address issues pertaining to the built environment, aesthetics, image, build-ability, context and non-context. We aspires to produce elegant and contemporary architecture that exceeds expectations and fulfills complex programmatic and operational needs. We are eager to push the limits of building technology – experimenting, innovating and refining – to come up with the very best solution for each situation.
I also feel architecture is shifting direction, from what is traditionally considered as architecture being a building product but more as a catalyst in the built environment. People, cities and countries not only need good buildings but they also need better future for their environment. And hence, i'm co-establishing a consultancy to help cities and people manage water. We understand the technologies available in the market and help the communities and individuals to customise the system depending on their context, needs and suitability.
At the end of the day my goal is to bring design into everyday lives through meaningful interventions.
