I’m Despina Gavala and I’m a professional makeup artist. Please allow me to tell you a bit about myself.

Even though I majored in Italian literature, makeup had always been my biggest passion. Even as far back as my teenage years, I was buying huge quantities of various makeup products and I always felt enchanted by the skill I had, transforming myself and others. I started collecting books, magazines and DVDs about makeup from all over the world, something which I continue to this day, with undiminished passion! A series of events had me taking my first steps as a professional makeup artist. I soon realized that makeup was something more for me; It was a life’s dream.

On May 2010 I won the 1st prize at the 17th Pan-Hellenic (Greek) Professional Makeup Competition, with “American Pinup Girl” as its topic. The following October I won the 3rd prize at the 23rd International Makeup Masters’ Award competition in Munich, Germany, where I represented Greece. “American Pinup Girl” was the topic once again.

At 2011, I became the exclusive Makeup Artist and International Makeup trainer for cosmetics firm Coverderm /Covermark, who trust me to represent them in more than 75 countries worldwide where they export their products.

At 2011 I also started delivering makeup seminars in makeup schools in Greece teaching all aspiring makeup artists my own technique and vision about makeup and beauty.

I am dealing with most types of makeup artistry (Evening makeup, Wedding makeup, Corrective, Theatrical, TV, Cinema, Airbrush, FacePainting & Bodypainting).

My vision is that all women worldwide gain confidence and learn all the tips and tricks to enhance the beauty that they all have.
