“For as long as I can remember, design, in one of its many forms, has been a major part of my life. I studied and worked in Glasgow, initially in printing. I moved on to illustration, graphics and interior design. In partnership with an engineer, we formed a bespoke design company and worked on some amazing projects for organisations including the Glasgow Garden Festival and the Glasgow Art Factory. Later, while working in furniture design and manufacture for Mackintosh and Co. I discovered a passion for 20th Century antiques and decorative arts. This was quite some journey, I became self-employed, exhibiting every weekend at antique fairs across the UK and dealing with interesting people internationally. After I became a father and my priorities changed, I began what was to become a 13-year career in property renovation.

I’m also a photographer and recently was thrilled to have been commissioned by Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust, Carlisle, to take a series of ‘behind the scenes’ studies of their recent exhibition George Howard, 9th Earl of Carlisle: Artist and Patron. www.tulliehouse.co.uk/george-howard-9th-earl-carlisle-artist-and-patron

I first met Debbie while she worked at her gallery ‘Neo.’ We’ve found real common ground, realising that our combined practical and creative experiences and values make this new adventure, Happy, a natural progression.
