Gayle Rachel Effron

I hold a BA in Cultural Anthropology from University of Michigan, an MPH in Health Promotion & Disease Prevention from Case Western Reserve University and am pursuing a Birth Doula Certification from Natural Resources in San Francisco, CA. During my career, I have taught water-skiing, Hebrew, family-friendly nutrition, tobacco cessation and a slew of early childhood programs. After oscillating between years of being a student and being a teacher, I know one thing is for sure: I am a lifelong lover of learning.

My quest for knowledge is matched only by my drive for creativity. Most recently, I thought about wearing a bowtie as a hair accessory. The following morning I purchased a sewing machine and vigorously watched YouTube videos, teaching myself to thread a bobbin, sew a straight line and finish a stitch. I now own and operate Retro Beaux, a line of accessories handcrafted from vintage bowties.
