After reading Randy Pausch’s Last Lecture, I came up with a couple of thoughts that might be useful to start talking about who am I. To know someone, you need to know his or her past and, also, what gets him or her motivated as it is the only thing in the world that can make a person get lost into one single activity and not care about what is going on around.

My parents have helped a lot teaching me some of the values that drive my everyday actions. If I had to start from the most important ones I would say honesty and hard work. And I like to put them together in my daily life as I think that there’s nothing more important than expressing what you really feel and making efforts every day in order to achieve everything that you want. And secondly, I would say perseverance and respect. I deeply believe that we should be able to do what we truly are passionate about but at the same time knowing that we have no right to affect others. And in order to do what we love, we need to be consistent and try every day to become better. After all, as Randy Pausch said, brick walls are there just to show us how much we want something and in the end what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted, is experience.

I’m that kind of person that likes things to be well arranged. But I also enjoy having to arrange something when I don’t like it the way it is. I consider myself a detail-oriented person as I have this instinct of looking up everything that is new or unknown to me. When something interests me, nothing can stop me from learning as much as I can about it.

I feel that the best way in which I’ll succeed in learning more about finance and investments, which are the two things that I’m passionate about, is to be able to work with someone who shares the same passion and values than me as, I said before, are the two things that explain who someone is and where he or she wants to go.
