Gary Don Brophy
Los Angeles, California, United States
I decided to pursue a J.D. after four years of managing a successful technology start-up called SendMeAFriend.com. Send Me A Friend, LLC assists automotive dealerships generate referrals and manage client relationships through its software and one-on-one training. While at Send Me A Friend, I was responsible for client management, hiring, marketing, training, and sales. My experience developing and running a successful business and working through the legal issues associated with a start-up business provides me unique insight into the legal issues corporations face every day.
Prior to graduating with honors, my affiliations and service to Pepperdine University were extensive: I was involved in leadership for the Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and Law. I served as Vice Magister for the Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society. I was an associate editor for the journal of the National Association for Administrative Law Judiciary. I have worked as Teaching Assistant to Chief Justice Myron Steele of the Delaware Supreme Court and Professor Jim Griffin during their course, “Acquisitions of Publicly Held Corporations.” I have also worked with Professor Robert Anderson on an independent study researching corporate intellectual property rights.
