Grady Hill
I started playing the piano at my Father’s church at the age of 9 and teaching music during the summer at my Mother’s house at the age of 13. At the age of 16, I started teaching on weekends at a fellowship hall because my students had grown to be to many at my Mother’s house. I also started playing for two churches as part-time jobs.
I played for the Jazz band at my Junior High School under the direction of Mr. Hardee. From there, I played with the Jazz band at my High School. I received a Music scholarship to attend Bishop College in Dallas, Texas. At the age of 17, one of my music professors, T Bird Gordon, approached me to play with his band on weekends. As his keyboardist, I learned to play all types of music from R&B, Pop, Blues, Funk, Rock n Roll, Reggae, Classical and etc. During this time, I learned to play the Hammond B3 organ and keyboard synthesizers. Through my travels from the east coast to the west coast with T Bird as his keyboardist, I also learned different music styles of playing the piano/keyboard and organ.
After playing the keyboard and organ with T Bird for several years, I went back to teaching private piano and organ lesson. I taught piano lessons in the privacy of my home. Then I moved into my first music studio on Kiest Blvd. I purchased my first organ and incorporated teaching private organ lessons. After expanding my studio with more pianos, keyboards and organs, I moved to my second location on Red Bird Lane where my wife, Donna and I started our Music School teaching piano, keyboard and organ classes with all types of music including Gospel, Blues, R&B, Jazz, Pop, Rock n Roll and Classical.
We have taught all ages from 3 to 80+years, the blind and the hearing impaired. Because of our abilities to teach piano/keyboard and organ lessons, locally in the Dallas/Ft Worth area, it is a privilege to be able to teach piano/keyboard and organ music lessons online.
I look forward to showing you the pleasure of creating music too!
