An Aspiring Educator from the University of Johannesburg.

When I think about the kind of teacher I want to become, I realize it’s about more than just lessons or tests. For me, it’s about connecting with people, especially young black learners and those from underprivileged homes, and helping them see their own potential. I believe education should speak to the real world our learners live in, and that it should feel relevant, empowering, and human.

As a student teacher, I’m passionate about creating learning spaces where everyone feels seen and valued. I want to help learners think critically, ask questions, and engage with their communities in meaningful ways. I care deeply about social justice, historical studies, language and comprehension, and finding creative ways to teach those learners.

Personally, teaching is a chance to be part of something bigger than myself. It’s about making a difference, even in small ways. I believe the best teachers are those who lead with heart, and I hope to be one of them.
