We celebrate the combination of great pieces of gear with expert advice and all it enables us to become. As a business, Gear Theory is a media company that promotes brands, products, services, and content with a focus on the outdoor and travel segment to inspire and enable more exploration by being perfectly prepared for each adventure.

We love great gear. We are OBSESSED with how it's made and what you can do with it. The craftsmanship and attention to detail. Lessons from extended field use. Design and production processes. The what, why, and how. It's what we like to talk about. And we talk a lot.

Our favorite stories surround the advancement of gear over time (new vs. old), what these products and services mean to the everyday lives of professional adventurers and explorers, and life-changing moments enabled by our favorite pieces.

Gear Theory: Adventures (Web / TV Series)

What good is talking about gear if you never get out and use it? Whenever possible we join fellow explorers and content creators on adventures to our backyard and abroad. Viewers follow us through a process of adventure selection, pre-planning, preparation, and execution, learning from our mistakes and triumphs.

A proper adventure is completely immersive and pushes outside of the comfort zone. We document experiences in natural and urban environments, outdoor & sporting activities, history, culture, food, art & design, music, and other activities that grant a closer connection to the uniqueness of a specific place or people. Wherever possible we build relationships with expert guides and local content creators, our co-stars of the series.
