Geronimo Collins

podcaster, content creator, and event producer in New Orleans, LA

For the past fifteen years, Geronimo Collins has established a peerless, groundbreaking, award-winning standard as a cultural creative in multiple media disciplines.

Via his half-decade old All The Fly Kids media brand, he’s aired nearly 200 broadcasts across numerous multimedia formats. In that time, he’s also achieved being both the first broadcaster to be awarded a production grant from the DC Government’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment’s 202Creates campaign, plus also receiving a Gold Prize via the well-regarded DC Web Fest.

Geronimo’s unique background creates his inimitable and successful style as a dynamic creative force. Geronimo — like many other progressive Black creators — was a student at Howard University. Moreover, he’s worked for brands including Champagne Armand de Brignac and Warby Parker, understanding marketing products and lifestyle to hip, urban clientele. Furthermore, he’s also worked in no fewer than a half-dozen areas nationwide as a market canvasser, thus deepening the scope and depth of what “diversity” means to him. Unlike the traditional “urban creative” from a coastal hub or densely populated midwestern center, Geronimo’s as versed in understanding the socio-cultural motivations of consumers and creatives in New York and New Orleans as he is Charlotte, Akron, or yes, his hometown of Washington, DC.

To wit, the influential Rock Creek Social Club event marketing and promotions group is largely his brainchild. Though no longer directly connected with the collective, they have set a national standard in alternative-to-mainstream nightlife for the past decade. This has included a weekly party that inspired an underground rap classic (ILoveMakonnen and Drake’s “Tuesday”). Plus, it spurred the entertainment careers of Capitol Records executive Modi Oyewole, DJ Jerome Baker III, and DC Metropolitan area-based venue owner Kevin “Uncle Skooty” Hallums.

Geronimo is a rare bottom-line driven creative force who’s more interested in developing and chronicling cultural traditions that inspire legacies instead of seeking self-aggrandizing success. A well-oiled machine is only as powerful as its engine. Geronimo, as that engine, transforms any group with which he’s associated from a commonplace organization to a premium force able to — in ideal conditions — redefine a generation.
