My cozy college apartment
Welcome to my page! Whether you're here from my Wordpress blog or any other site I may have myself connected to, I'm glad you're here!
I am currently a college student pursuing a BA in Print Journalism on the east coast, and I am working full time as a banquet server. Due to my busy schedule of 25+ hours of work per week and 15-credit-hour semesters, I am not able to join any student organizations, but I do have a blog on Wordpress (see link below) on which I post and comment on current news that affects my "geeky world" (hence my username).
On the side, I am a cosplayer, and I have attended numerous conventions throughout my life thus far, the most famous one being Dragoncon in Atlanta, GA. I have created about a handful of costumes, many of which either included handmade parts or were created by hand completely.
I also have one book published, The Branding, which is a young teen fantasy novel about a curse that threatens to make a young elf a puppet of the underworld. The second book is on the way after a few bumps in the road along the way due to the economy.
My Cosplays
My first cosplay/total disaster was Temari from the formerly popular Naruto anime when I was in fifth grade, and my most current cosplay is Daenerys Targaryen from A Game of Thrones in her burlap Khaleesi garb. Between those two points, I have finished other projects, including: multiple versions of the Marvel heroine X-23 (I have pictures of me on the internet from Dragoncon 2011), Zelda-inspired costumes for a high school Shakespeare production, and a handmade Gandalf staff from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
