Greetings, I’m Gehrig. I’m a Router Operator living in Riverview FL. I have been a HUGE fan of Elon Musk and his many business ventures, mainly SpaceX and Tesla, but one of his latest ventures has my full attention.

I grew up in Hawaii and at a very young age I figured out that I was missing something. I would hear from the people around me how certain places and things “smelled” but it would confuse me. I never remembered experiencing a smell before, and whenever I tried, I got nothing. My parents were a little worried, like any parent should be, so they took me to multiple specialists. Pediatricians, regular doctors, ear nose and throat specialists, etcetera. Not one of them could find anything wrong with my sinuses or the surrounding area.

I have never been officially diagnosed with anything, but years later in high school I found out the medical term used for being born without a sense of smell was “Congenital Anosmia.”

As I mentioned before, Elon Musks new venture is something called Neuralink. It was founded by Musk in July 2016, and the goal of this company is to revolutionize the way we treat physical and mental problems in the brain. They are developing a chip that will be implanted in the skull, and will be interfacing with the brain via ridiculously thin wires. Some of the things this chip can . At the time of writing this, Neuralink is still in its research and development phase. They have reached milestones in this part of the process but it isn’t completed yet.
