Do you ever, once, in your life, stop to think about reaching for a big leap that’ll change you for good? I know I do, and this whole thing is one big manifestation of that very thought. Ever since I was a kid, the world of stories has surrounded me, everything, from the media I consumed to the very words of familiar figures of my life told narratives, chronicles, and history, that was how it was back in the province. But these stories were elevated through how these amazing and brilliant minds told them, by acting them, singing them, dancing them, and even playing the music for them, and I wanted to do that too, to tell new tales, and teach humanity the complexities of living a human life. And years later, here I am! pursuing the thing I love the most, to perform, moving in to Manila, where opportunities arise. Well, not really, as of yet, I haven’t truly accomplished the very first step towards becoming the performer, which is to be a master of my skills, my craft. I am still in the process of honing them, perfecting and playing by the rules so that one day I may be able to break them, and experiment, create art, honing my skills to make me a master storyteller.
One challenge however, is the fear of failure, mixed with anxiety, and doubt, and although vulnerable they may be, they have motivated me to work harder, and better, to coexist with them peacefully, to use them as fuel for greatness. Most of the times, the people in our lives will tell us to protect ourselves, to put us in certain boxes by choosing the safest paths, but to me, I choose to embrace the leap, to embrace my passions and dreams, because maybe, just maybe, I could prove them wrong. Come follow me in this journey, and watch me as I take the steps to become accomplished, to be the singer, dancer, and actor I am meant to be, all with your support and belief in me.
