Throughout my education and 6 years of employment, I have gained invaluable skills which I am very proud and appreciative of. However, now that I have completed my University degree, I am ready and eager for an exciting and motivating opportunity to apply these skills, whilst developing them even further.
Being able to study English at University has been an opportunity which I am glad I took. Not only have I been able to learn the structure of the language more efficiently whilst studying epic and classic literature, but it has given me confidence in my writing and opened my eyes to how I can incorporate this to a career I love. My favourite module at University was 'journalism writing' where I got a chance to write for many different functions such as press releases, reviews, feature and news articles. This made me realise how much I love the creative process of writing.
My employment experience is very varied; consequently I have learnt a lot along the way! From working in retail for companies such as Boots and Debenhams as a Sales Adviser, to being an active worker for my Student Union where I stewarded prestigious University events. However, the role which I am most proud of is that of Online Content Editorial Assistant for the Saga web team. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to put my English writing and grammar skills to the test and got satisfaction from working in a busy office environment.
I am an extremely contentious worker with a professional manner towards every job that is in-hand. My experience at University has taught me how to organize and prioritize my work-load, whilst simultaneously completing them to the most high standard. These are all character building skills which I feel would be an important aspect for the role of a Content Assistant.
On the other hand, I think it is important to have a well-rounded social and work life. In my spare time I love to spend time with my friends, whether that is getting all dressed up and enjoying a glass of Pinot Grigio. shopping or settling on the sofa with a chick-flick film. Also, I feel so lucky to live by the sea and take every opportunity to take advantage of the beaches near me.
