19-year-old Fashion enthusiast studying a Bachelor of Science in Applied statistics and Media at UCT. If you think that’s weird, my name is Gemma Meyers, not Gemma pronounced with a J, but Gemma with a G (for glitter… or great… or girly).

I enjoy every aspect of the fast-pace, innovative, 18.2 trillion Rand industry that is fashion. I’m undecided into which aspect of the industry I will join, but whether it be fashion planning and trend forecasting or designing and marketing, I know this industry is for me.

From sketching looks daily throughout at the age of 9 - ending up with a collection of over 400 different looks in just one year - to sewing my own costumes for dress up occasions, I’ve always known my passion lies with fashion. My four siblings, the rest of my family, my friends and my boyfriend are on the list of things that I invest my time into, other than fashion.

I believe fashion is an expression of oneself, as well as being an art form. Welcome to my porthole into this intricate, cutting-edge industry.
