Hi! I'm Gemma, I'm a marketing and communications manager. Currently in England and I will be moving to Vancouver in May with permanent residency status.

I have always had a passion for English language and english literature so marketing and communications is a natural path for me I had never considered a career in marketing until an opportunity to learn digital marketing was offered to me 4 years ago.

After a year in an entry level marketing role I relocated to Yorkshire to take on a progressive role managing all of the online marketing activities for a brand new online loans business. I managed all of the online campaigning and affiliate activity for the launch, and then went on to successfully grow the brand. I stayed there for 18 months, developing a skill set in online campaigns, reporting, compliance & risk, client management, presentations, marketing strategy, social media and SEO.

I'm now based in Leeds managing all of the customer communications, customer insight and marketing for existing customers for another online loan provider.

When I'm not working or volunteering I enjoy anything creative and crafty, particularly jewellery making. I also love to travel and experience new things.

I've had several holidays over the last 10 years, some in Europe and some travelling around America and Canada either with friends or on my own. I've been lucky enough to be able to tick a lot of things off my bucket list including feeding / playing with dolphins, Calgary Stampede, horse riding at a Texan ranch and seeing the Rockies and the Grand Canyon.

Whether at home, work or travelling you will often find me listening to music and my CD collection is very varied. I enjoy movies too and will watch most genres, but I love a good action movie or romantic comedy.

I adore animals, particularly cats...I have a short haired tortie called Lily who is a well behaved but high maintenance 4 yr old. I was also a member of the board for local cat rescue last year. My role was to assist with fundraising and marketing activities. I also fostered some cats and kittens too.
