Mohamed G. Beshir aka Gemyhood

Mohamed G. Beshir [a.k.a @Gemyhood] is an Egyptian Blogger since 2005, Online Journalist, New Media Expert-Trainer, Comics Artist and R&B; Singer. Currently, Mohamed is working as Website Content Manger for Al-Forssan Sports Magazine, developing a new concept of sports video reporting and social media in Sports Journalism. He has worked as the Website Content Manger (and Founder) of El Dostor Daily News, where he developed a concept for the newspaper’s website and introduced the idea of an interactive web site to encourage the participation of young readers. Gemy is a United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Fellow [AoCIF]. He is committed to freedom of expression and the importance of publishing online, and he sees New Media and Social Networking tools as vital for this process. Mohamed is also a professional New Media and Digital Campaigning trainer in Egypt and Morocco. His last project was in Rabat, Morocco where he was Trainer for the "Be Heard Now" project, providing young leaders with a long-term training course in how to use New & Social Media in campaigns. Many of Gemy’s stories have been followed by prominent media (CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, France24, etc). Mohamed (Gemy) is also a web-comics artist, comics writer, speaker for comics workshops, and is Co-founder of "El kartoona" the 1st Arabic underground comic magazine for adults. In addition, he is currently involved in making short films and documentaries. He has created two films. The first film is about car accidents in DC area during his internship with Slate.com (Washington Post company) USA. The second film is entitled "Online" and explores Internet freedom in Egypt. This film was shown in the "ICANN" (http://cai.icann.org) conference in Egypt for internet activists internationally, as well as shown in Italy and Germany in Special Honor by The Cairo Human Rig
