Bioinformatics, Data Science, and Drug Discovery in Terra Firma

I've been an outdoors enthusiast my whole life enjoying mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, fishing, and skateboarding. As a father, I learned to enjoy (to an extent) organized sports to support my kids' passions.

I am passionate about implementing emerging technologies and novel informatics solutions. Roles as an R&D informatics leader have afforded me opportunities to define data platforms and strategies across Screening, Chemistry, Biology, Cell & Gene Therapy, and Compound Management within pharma discovery orgs.

Work projects I thought were notable and fun to mention:

The first 10 years of Next-Gen sequencing - I was an early adopter and beta tester for the 454, Roche, illumina and ion-Torrent platforms and analysis pipelines.

Directed evolution of enzyme biocatalysts.

Small molecule discovery - High throughput screening

DNA-Encoded library screening

Laboratory Automation for implementing high-throughput phenotypic assays

Scaffold-based screening analytics that integrate all the above data.

Favorite fishing locations I'm willing to share:

Big Bushkill creek on the Resica Falls Boy Scout reserve

Lackawanna River

Lost & Reservoir lakes in the Snowy mountain range of Wyoming - A worthwhile hike to catch truly challenging fish with amazing scenery.
