Geneva Henry

My name is Geneva Henry. I grew up in Dade City, FL. It was a very small, quiet town. Growing up, I always longed to get out of that small town. That is what brought me to South Florida for college. I fell in love with sunny South Florida and am so happy this is where we have settled down. It is such a beautiful place to be where the temperature and the people are both warm.

Like I mentioned, I came to Palm Beach to attend college. I went to a small Christian liberal arts college called Palm Beach Atlantic University. It was filled with so many special people. The atmosphere was very laid back and Fridays were unofficially beach days. My degree is in English/Secondary Education and my studies included literature, dance, theatre, guitar, and piano. I enjoyed my electives so much, I ended up staying an additional semester. My advisors and teachers were the most impressive people at the school. The education department was very challenging and rewarding all at the same time. The English department was filled with people who loved every aspect of the English language and its origins. There were bookworms, writers, and oh so many creative people. It was such a special time in my life.

I met my husband of 16 plus years there. My favorite memory of our courtship was the time we were arguing (about what I cannot remember) and in order to get me to talk to him about it, he climbed up the side of the apartment building to my second floor patio and stood outside my door to get my attention. It was so humorous that he would go to all that trouble, how could I ignore him?!? He is the perfect complement to my quirky, spontaneous, bubbly, outgoing personality. We certainly balance each other out. He is intelligent, down to earth, thoughtful, and often reserved but we love to dream together. It was a match made in Heaven.

We have created an incredible family. We have three handsome young men and a beautiful little lady. Our children impress us all the time. It amazes me that God chose me to be their mom. We have a rock star, a tech genius, an athlete, and a model. At least, those are their interests this week. To round it out, we have a little black hound mixed dog. She is sweet and kind but she is an escape artist and likes to roam the neighborhood any chance she gets.

My name Geneva Henry means pure, little white flower and ruler of the home. What a name to live up to. I don’t know that pure will describe me this side of Heaven but as a Christ
