Genevieve Pacada
Academic Technology Specialist in San Jose, California
My name is Genevieve Pacada and I have been an educator for the past 14 years and I'm currently an Academic Technology Specialist at the Santa Clara County Office of Education. For the past 2 years I have been a Technology Integration ToSA and, most recently, a Learning and Innovation Program Specialist in the Union School District. Prior to those roles, I spent 12 years teaching elementary and middle school. I am currently a CUE Lead Learner, a presenter at various Rock Star camps and CUE conferences. I also had the great fortune of teaching a Technology course to pre-service teachers at National Hispanic University.
Technology had always been a passion of mine and, from the very beginning of my teaching career, it gave me a creative way to communicate with students and families and a fun way to showcase classroom projects through the creation of movies and slideshows. This passion led me to pursue a Master of Science Degree in Education Media Design and Technology at Full Sail University. The program was completely online and I had the amazing opportunity to experience project based learning through collaboration with a cohort of talented educators from all across the United States. I became a filmmaker, a video game creator, a songwriter, a blogger, and a virtual teacher, all in one year where I pushed myself to create some incredible projects that I never dreamed possible.
In order to keep up with the technology trends, it is important that I maintain a strong digital presence and that I always push myself to keep learning. For that reason, I am Leading Edge Online and Blended Teacher, Digital Educator, and Professional Learning Leader Certified. I was on the SVCUE board, am a Google Certified Innovator, and am a Common Sense Digital Educator. It’s truly an honor to be a part of all these amazing groups and I can’t wait to continue learning and sharing my knowledge with my students and my professional learning network of highly innovative educators.
