I arrived on the planet in rural Kent near London in 1952, my English father met my Italian mother in wartime Italy where he defused mines and she worked for the Italian resistance. I grew up part of the flower power generation - It was a fantastic privilege to be around London in 1967. I have lived in many cities &, countries, Done the hippy trail to India & once camped out in the Australian desert for three months- an awesome and life changing experience. I must have lived in a hundred places and had a hundred jobs often working with the power of words in whatever form. I write both poetry and lyrics but now is the first time these are being put to music by my long suffering wife & fellow traveller Helen Hill -Once a red headed Irish firebrand, now a source of joy and good cooking. I adore music, in particular Country, Blues & Rock of all genres. I have been particularly influenced by Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix The original Cream and Pink Floyd. On the female side I love Melanie Safka, Stevi Nicks and Annie Lennox to name but a few. The lyrics for "Circle Of Dreams" recently earned a plaudit in the " international song of the year" competition. Time for an update maybe: I have around a dozen tracks recorded now - september 2015. and a new one in production as I write with more in the queue. I put one of them (Sisters of Soul) into the U.K.S.C. where it has now reached the semi-final stage I won't really know any more untill the results are announced in November. I write under the name "PeterTheLast" I hope to make a rough demo of a biblical style christmas song shortly that I wrote a few days ago in case anyone is interested in taking a look....
