Dr. Geoffrey Simpson
Following bending and breaking rules in in the United States
Dr. Simpson earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Tulsa. He also has a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Oklahoma State University. He is a member of the class of 1993 of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM).
Geoffrey is the first Alumni to be appointed to the OSSM Board of Trustees, and now serves as the Academic Committee chairperson and is a member of the Executive Board. He also is a judge for I2e’s yearly Governor’s cup business competition. He has volunteered extensively, including serving as the Equipment Director for the Tulsa Route 66 Marathon for two years and as the race director for the Mohawk 5000 foot race for several years.
In 2017, Geoffrey was selected as the Oklahoma State University Computer Science's Distinguished Alumni. He has also been recognized as a member of the 40 under 40 class of 2011 by the Tulsa Business Journal and an Innovator of the Year from the Journal Record in 2010 for another one of his startups, Diner Connection by Moxie Software.
Geoffrey is also a stained glass artist, focusing on integrating glass and lights. He has had works displayed in the Graphite Gallery in OKC, Meme Gallery in Tulsa, Colour Gallery in Tulsa, Studio Soul Tulsa, and Living Arts of Tulsa.
Geoffrey and his wife, Rebecca Thompson, completed their first Full Ironman Triathlon in 2018. Geoffrey is a member of both Marathon Maniacs (#4552) and Half-Fanatics (#5626) (making him Double Agent #522) and has run a combination of 30 (as of May 2023) marathons and ultra marathons. Most importantly, he is the father to two awesome boys, and he still reserves the right to dominate them at video games.
