George Sioutas
Law in Greece
“My practicing law is not a profession, it's not a job. A lawyer is not driven by his goals or aspirations, by money or moral values, at least I’m not; even though money will come, tasks will be completed and a career may be drawn along after a few years. It is not justice I’m after, even though I’m letting myself in its administration.
My only service is trust. People, total strangers, with whom I share nothing in common, that may as well be dead, count on my trust, yet they're not my friends. They count on my drive to do my best to protect them and their interests, their family, their fortune, their business, their well-being. To take up on any duty, to fight, to negotiate, to forestall, to repair their wrong-doings, to relieve them from their burdens and worries, to entrust me with their legacy.
A lawyer may never be the friend you were looking for, as friends may betray you. There will be a time though, that even the worst of us, may be the best thing you will ever need.”
