George Wang

I'm a multi-disciplinary innovator with a passion for human insights and crafting meaningful experiences.

Until I watched Larry Smith's TED Talk "Why you fail to have a great career,” I dedicated years of effort with moving forward on a career path with such narrow intensity that I lost sight of why I did it in the first place. From then on, defining a clear purpose through asking 'why' has become central to everything that I do. While engineering has taught me how to solve problems, I became more interested in how to identify right problems to solve.

To answer this question, I've enrolled in the Masters of Design in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at OCAD University. Here, I have the opportunity to work with a diverse set of students on strategic challenges using qualitative research, design thinking, and foresight. Outside of school, I attend design conferences, facilitate workshops, and take on a leadership role in initiatives such as Hult Prize @ OCAD and the Strategic Innovation Collective.

After my studies, I'm interested in growing with consultancies in the range of experience innovation, brand strategy, design thinking, and creative capacity building. With an education in both Engineering and Design, I am confident in my ability to address the why and the how when faced with any strategic challenge.

I can legally work in the U.S. and I’m open to international relocation.
