George Frangou
London, United Kingdom.
My vision is that Big Data will positively transform society and business and that Big Data analytics will be at the heart of disruptive advances in communications, science, health and entertainment. A scientist and engineer by training, I set about making my vision a reality by patenting ground breaking inventions and building a team to develop these inventions into commercial products and to take them to market.
Working extensively across Europe, the United States and the Middle East, I have many notable strategic new business successes persuading Fortune Global 500 companies, including AstraZeneca, BAE Systems and BP to adopt positively disruptive new analytic and data technologies I developed such as predictive dashboarding.
My corporate background includes executive leadership positions at KPMG Consulting, Steria and KPN and leading multimillion dollar global Big Data transformation programs for blue-chip companies including Thomson Reuters, Centrica and the Financial Times.
Professional accreditations and honours include Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIoD), FRSA, Fellow of the British Computer Society, and Fellow of The Chartered Institute for IT.
I hold degrees and postgraduate qualifications from world-renowned institutions (including University College London and Imperial College) in astrophysics, broadband technologies and information visualization, with doctoral studies in corporate strategy.
