Born in Santa Barbara, California and raised in Seattle, Washington my wife moved to Sapporo, Japan in early 2008 so that she could fulfill her dream of returning to the land of her birth.

My work has appeared in a wide variety of magazines since the early 1970s, including the South Dakota Review, The Enchanted Self, Community Mental Health Journal, North American Mentor Magazine, McLean County (Illinois) Poetry Review, A Rainbow Feast: New Asian Short Storiesedited by Mohammad A. Quayum and published by Marshall Cavendish Editions (Singapore).

  • Since moving to Sapporo, I have published 4 books: The Old Man and the Monkey, Grandfather and the Raven, Bear, a story about a boy and his unusual dog,and The City Has Many Faces, a love story about Mexico City.
