George Altgelt

Experienced attorney George Altgelt currently holds the position of managing partner at the Altgelt Law Office in Laredo, Texas. In addition to carrying out his daily responsibilities at the law firm, George Altgelt chairs the Webb County Bail Bond Board and is a member of the Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct Committee for the State Bar of Texas. He also serves as a board member for both the Big River Foundation and the River Pierce Foundation.

Previously, Mr. Altgelt prosecuted environmental and felony drug offenders for the Webb and Zapata County District Attorney’s Office. He also handled a wide range of construction defect and commercial litigation cases for the firm of Altgelt, Cook, Loree, Hernandez & Lipscomb.

Mr. Altgelt holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M International University in Laredo. He earned his juris doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio. During his limited free time, he enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and riflery.
