George Chadwick

My name is George Chadwick, I am a 24 year old “creative” from Santa Cruz, CA. I now live in New York City, where I am working on my gaduate degree in Communication Design at Pratt Institute. I make videos, take pictures, and make music. I love to be a part of the creative process. If sparks are flying I am happy and I know I’m in the right place. All of my life I've been involved in the creative process. I grew up in a household that placed a high value in the arts. I am who I am because of my family. I grew up in a very musical and creative environment, my dad was a Hollywood recording engineer and my mom is a local playwright. Because of this much of my childhood and adolescence was spent creating things, songs, videos, art, all with my family contributing to my process, or allowing me to be a part of theirs. I have been in a band with my brother since I was in eighth grade; we are currently finishing our third album. At a young age I was able to see the importance of quality critique and how much different viewpoints or opinions could help me grow as a creative minded individual. In high school I got into film and social media. I had videos in local film festivals, promoted and performed with my band, and in 2011, I graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a Bachelors degree in film and digital media. Over the last year I have worked full time as the head of video production at Gadgetbox studios in Santa Cruz, CA. At Gadgetbox I am in charge of directing and co-producing many different types of videos, from music videos and album promos, to small business profile pieces. I work closely with many different types of clients to make sure that their ideas and visions come across in their final product. I am happiest in a creative and collaborative environment where visions are shared and creativity thrives.
