George J. Sandhu

George J. Sandhu began his career in finance in 1989, when he joined Arthur Andersen LLP’s Chicago headquarters as one of the first employees in its newly created Real Estate Advisory Group. Following his work at Arthur Andersen, George J. Sandhu accepted a position in the Real Estate Syndication Department of Sanwa Bank Ltd. After that, he served a company known as Williams Real Estate.

In 1996, George J. Sandhu embarked an entrepreneurial pursuit that involved selling foreign investors private placement in public U.S. companies. With many European investors and a healthy client base, George J. Sandhu took that business with him when he joined Baytree Capital Associates, LLC, as Managing Director. Sandhu made significant contributions to Baytree, a leader in the field of private investment in public equity. Notably, he increased the capital for the Grand Havana Room in New York by obtaining financing from his clients.

In 1999, George J. Sandhu made a career move to the International Investment Group, an alternative investment firm with assets totaling more than $400 million. He acted as Senior Director at IIG and managed the IIG Equity Opportunities Fund Ltd. He also oversaw the firm’s banking operations. Simultaneously, he worked with others to create a hedge fund based in Bermuda called the Target Growth Fund Ltd., investing in U.S. technology and biotechnology companies. The fund secured start-up capital from two of Europe’s biggest banking institutions, BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole CIB, which also became the fund’s largest shareholders. In addition to raising capital for the fund, Mr. Sandhu structured and financed transactions. Additionally, he continued advising high-net-worth individuals.

Presently, Mr. Sandhu serves as a Managing Member at Palmira Advisors S.C., an organization that concentrates on investment structuring in the fields of technology and biotechnology in Mexico and Europe.

In addition to his various professional pursuits, George J. Sandhu employs his gifts for social good. He supports Habitat for Humanity International, a Christian ministry that strives to provide decent, affordable housing to people in need. In addition, he generously donates to the Fundación Vargas, an institution in Mexico dedicated to helping children with mental and physical disabil
