George Mabry

The recipient of a bachelor's degree in business administration and history from Furman University, George Mabry began his career as a high-yield associate at Barings in Charlotte, North Carolina. He spent 4 years at the company, and built valuation models to measure credit performance at various commodity input prices for more than 60 oil and gas companies with more than $100 billion in combined debt. George Mabry was also one of two members of the North Carolina-based firm to participate in its inaugural 2-year analyst training program.
Upon leaving the firm in 2017, George Mabry took positions as director at the Kenan-Flager Private Equity Fund and associate at Stronghold Resource Partners in Dallas, Texas. He executed buyout models on oil-weighted assets at the latter firm. Since 2019, he has worked as an associate at the private equity firm New 2ND Capital in New York, where he oversees deal sourcing and structuring across various industries.
Complementing his private equity experience, he obtained an MBA from the University of North Carolina (UNC) in 2019. He also served as president and vice president of the UNC’s golf club and wine society, respectively. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys hobbies such as sailing, skiing, reading historical non-fiction, and playing golf.
