George Monroe Hammitt III

The recipient of numerous awards in anesthesiology, Dr. George Monroe Hammitt III is the practice owner of the Pain Management Center of North Mississippi, which performs outpatient surgery. Board certified in anesthesiology and pain management, Dr. George Monroe Hammitt III has treated patients since 2004.

Dr. Hammitt studied at the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson. He was also active in student life, joining the Chancellor’s Leadership Class, the student council, and the Golden Key Honor Society. After graduation, he served on the staff of an outpatient surgical center in Tupelo before moving to his current position.

In addition, Dr. Hammitt was a member of the Joint Commission Committee for Pain Management and served as a delegate to the Mississippi Society of Anesthesiology. Other memberships include the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Mississippi Society of Anesthesiology. He has been a featured speaker for pharmaceutical companies and has presented research findings at professional conferences.
