George Moore
I live in Belfast (N. Ireland) where I work as a lecturer in the University of the Ulster's School of Computing and Mathematics. I currently teach Future and Emerging Technology, Mobile Computing and Advances in Multimedia Authoring. I am also a member of the Smart Environments Research Group, where my research interests are in Mobile Computing, Assistive Technology, User Experience Design, Natural User Interfaces and Social Media.
A large part of my professional practice is in providing consultancy to businesses. These Academic Enterprise projects are usually related to my teaching and research interests but I'm always happy to explore how I, or a colleague, can help companies to address their critical technology needs. Recent projects include helping companies to redesign the user experience offered by their software and services, design and develop mobile social network and location based services, deploy eLearning platforms, design and develop forensic security services, achieve standards compliance and streamline multi-platform mobile application development. I am a Chartered IT Professional member of the British Computer Society and a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
When not working I enjoy music, film and holidays, however my main interest is computing, which is either lucky or unfortunate given my work. I am fairly open minded as you will see from my Twitter feed, which is one of the best places to contact me.
