Possessing more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, George Simonetti currently serves as Managing Director of Wells Fargo Securities in Charlotte, North Carolina. The executive guides the bank’s Markets Clearing and Futures Execution business, and his duties include the clearing of all OTC and Listed Derivative products traded by Wells Fargo and its Capital Markets customers along with the futures execution desk. George Simonetti joined Wells Fargo in 1997 as Director and Senior Vice President of Treasury Operations, responsible for an investment portfolio of foreign bonds, balance sheet derivatives, and exchange-traded futures and options. Prior to assuming his role as Head of Markets Clearing and Futures Execution, George was responsible for managing all Capital Markets Operations and a staff of over 500+ employees.
Throughout his career, George Simonetti led global operational initiatives in Europe and Asia. He also managed more than 20 mergers and acquisitions as an executive with Lehman Brothers, Signet Bank, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo. In addition to a key analysis of an exchange seat purchase on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade, he has also led strategic analyses of an important securities system replacement at Wells Fargo.
