George Subraj

George Subraj, President of New York-based Zara Realty Holding Corp., was born in Bel Air, Georgetown, Guyana. In his early career, George Subraj held a number of positions before his transition to the real estate industry. At Zara Realty Holding Corp., George Subraj strives to provide some of the best quality and fairly priced rental experiences in Queens, Long Island, and Orlando. George Subraj attended St. Mary’s Lutheran School in Georgetown. He then began working as a rice and cattle farmer, followed by a period as a mechanic. In the early 1970s, George Subraj immigrated to the United States, settling in the New York area. Shortly thereafter, he enrolled at the Midtown School of Business. In the early 1980s, George Subraj engaged in his first real estate venture. After purchasing an apartment complex in Jamaica, Queens, he established the Zara brand and sought to raise the standards of the rental market for the area. Then and now, George Subraj focuses on affordability, quality, cleanliness, and security in his properties. As a result of his efforts, he has won the respect and admiration of many tenants. Some families have rented non-stop with Zara Realty Holding Corp. since its inception in 1981. Currently, as President, George Subraj and the Zara Realty Holding Corp. manage over 20 rental properties, mostly in Jamaica, Queens, and Long Island.
