Obtained a doctoral degree with honors from the Charles' University Medical School of Prague. In 2000, came to US and completed residency training in ophthalmology at the Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA. Later, completed fellowship in retinal vascular diseases and fluorescein angiography at Wilmer Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore.
