I originally qualified as a teacher in 2003 and spent a couple of years working in secondary schools before being bitten by the travel bug. I moved to Japan in 2005 with my partner (now husband) and taught English in Oita and Kobe for 2 years before moving on to do the same thing in Brisbane.
On my return I worked in schools for a short period before moving into assessing vocational qualifications. Within a year I had achieved my Interal Quality Assurance qualifications and had landed a management position in the local authority.
There was a wedding and some children appeared around this point...
I founded Qualified Education Ltd in early 2013 and took voluntary redundancy shortly after. There was clearly a gap in the market for a responsive, well-managed training provider to meet the needs of learners.
We originally gained accreditation from City & Guilds to deliver their Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools curriculm (my particular specialism), but have since diversified by gaining acreditation from OCN Eastern Region, NCFE and Highfields ABC and branching out in to the Health and Social Care and Early Years sectors.
Our aim is to ensure the workforce is suitable qualified, raise professional standards and help individuals achieve their work related goals. However, our main focus is to ensure that all learners are provided with a tailored and individualised learning package that meets their needs and that ulitmately, they have an enjoyable learning experience.
