My name is Yonatan Tarazona and I'm from Peru. I am a Geographer Engineer at National University of San Marcos (Peru). I have a master in Remote Sensing and GIS at Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain).

I have good knowledge about geospatial science, spatial statistics, spatial analysis and study of the environment through optical remote sensing and microwave remote sensing. I have a little experience in scientific activities in Peru. In fact, I have been part of the technical component of the PEER project: Strengthening Resilience on Andean River Basin Headwater Facing Global Change. I also have experience in the public sector and the private sector.

I really like remote sensing and its applications in the study of the Earth.

I like to find knowledge gaps and turn them into scientific publications through collaborations. My skills are machine learning, optical and microwave remote sensing, time series, change detection, R, Python, etc.

Recently, I have published my first paper called "Improving tropical deforestation detection through using photosynthetic vegetation time series - (PVts-β)":

Tarazona, Y., Mantas, V.M., Pereira, A.J.S.C. (2018). Improving tropical deforestation detection through using photosynthetic vegetation time series - (PVts-β). Ecological Indicators, 94, 367-379, DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.ecolind.2018.07.012
