That’s a good question. Grandpa, Poker Player, Fisherman, Chef, Computer Geek.
Over the years I’ve come to realize that one of my strongest talents is my ability to get things done. I’m talking about taking a challenge, anything from a stalled project, workflow issues or resource distribution hurdles, and resolving the situation in an efficient, timely manner. There are several factors in my personality that come into play but the main point is that I'm a process person; I analyze a process and instinctively look for ways to improve it. Here are some examples of how I have used this process-ability to get things done.
I’m a programmer at heart and manage all things technical as the Chief Information Officer for the last 5 years at TechMediaNetwork. I lead the company’s effort to report on all of the metrics involved in running a web property and then turning that information into actionable data to suggest improvements and inform the decisions concerning growth.
As TechMediaNetwork's VP of SEO/Social I’m responsible for the company’s traffic driving efforts in these areas. I'm in charge of creating corporate strategies and putting together teams to execute those plans. Work is ongoing on multiple fronts to increase our various properties’ traffic from SEO and Social efforts. Using major tools and platforms we increase traffic to our sites and gain insight into our audience.
At TechMediaNetwork I've managed several different departments including the team that's responsible for acquiring affiliate links for products on all of company's owned and operated web properties. I'm very familiar with the processes for forming relationships with affiliates to increase revenue.
One of the most exciting challenges I’ve tackled at TechMediaNetwork is developing and expanding our Partner Network. At the time I assumed leadership of the Partner Network the company was the 22nd largest Technology News property on comScore. My team and I worked diligently and increased our ranking to number three. We successfully entered a new arena for the company and I was central to creating the processes that now allow us to flourish in a very competitive market. During this time I became very knowledgeable with ad networks and how to grow them.
