Gerald Secundy
Prior to serving as President and CEO of the California Council for Environmental and Economic Balance (CCEEB), Gerald D. Secundy functioned as Executive Director of the California chapter for the non-profit National Audubon Society, Inc. and gained appointment to the California State Water Resources Control Board. As Executive Director of Audubon California, Gerald D. Secundy strove to further the group’s mission to conserve and restore natural ecosystems, with emphasis on flora and fauna, in order to facilitate the preservation and advancement of biological diversity. In 2004, Gerald D. Secundy helped open the first LEED Platinum certified building constructed in the United States, the Audubon Center in Los Angeles, California. Gerald D. Secundy oversaw the financing of the project and strategized a campaign in order to raise the necessary capital for construction. Having facilitated the construction of the first 100% energy-sustainable environmentally friendly building, Gerald D. Secundy assisted in furthering public knowledge and awareness of how people can reduce their environmental impacts. In 2005, Governor Schwarzenegger appointed Gerald D. Secundy to the California State Water Resources Control Board. As Vice Chair of the board, Gerald D. Secundy oversaw and mediated a number of critical decisions. Gerald D. Secundy collaborates with and aids a number of other non-profit organizations, in addition to managing the operations of CCEEB, to further public knowledge and awareness of current situations, policies, and strategies for improvement. In addition to CCEEB, Gerald D. Secundy advises the California Environmental Dialogue (CED), a group that supports and leads dialogues between business executives, government officials, and environmentalists to improve environmental regulatory systems in both efficiency and efficacy.
