Gerard Dass has several years of professional working experience in the IT industry before venturing into Health IT in 1999 where he specialized in Medical Informatics and related technologies before moving onto the wider spectrum of Healthcare Informatics.

An active contributing member to several international Technology and Health IT initiatives, Gerard runs Healthcare Informatics, a social blog that advocates the importance of Health IT as an enabler for “better patient care at lower cost” by raising the standards of health informatics through training, continuing education and providing a vendor neutral community / hub to enable knowledge exchange and collaboration. A recognized subject matter expert on the area of Health IT.

Gerard is a, experienced conference speaker, and serves on several Technical and Health Informatics committees, contributing to the industry and national initiatives from a solution provider, healthcare provider as well as research, consulting .

From a commercial perspective, Gerard has proven track record in directing, planning, positioning, selling, implementing and supporting a diverse (& holistic) range of Health IT solutions, facilitating “IT as an enabler to effective patient care while lowering cost” by serving as the bridge between End-User, Commercial and R&D; with the ability to understand and speak their language.
