Geraldine “Geri” Coleman Tucker is a literacy educator, prominent journalist, and writer who has held numerous key editing and reporting roles during her long career at USA Today, Gannett News Service, the Detroit Free Press, and the Akron Beacon Journal. She also was a contract writer for Understood.org, a website that serves parents of children with learning and attention issues, and has written for several national enterprises.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tucker is a 2024 graduate of Old Dominion University with an MSED in Reading. She is also a distinguished graduate of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where she served four years on its board of trustees. She was a member of both its academic affairs committee and its diversity committee.

Tucker resides in Alexandria, Virginia, and is actively involved in the region. She is a clarinetist with the Sanctified Symphony Orchestra of Alexandria. She formerly wrote Asperger Ascent, a blog for young adults on the autism spectrum.
