“El Maestro Hortua” is an accomplished Venezuelan Musician, Composer, Conductor, Producer and Educator with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education, Graduated in the Adventist University of Colombia in 1992. He distinct himself from others because he believes that Music is God’s Language of Love and as such it must be shared with the passion only the heart knows how to express.

El Maestro Hortua not only has a vast knowledge and experience in Classical Piano performance, but he also can effortlessly and fluently move among a variety of styles from Classical, to Gospel, Latin to Jazz and many more.

His performance is frequently described as a “sweet embellishment of versatile harmonies”. Gerson is well-known by his performance of Handel’s “Messiah” with the Metropolitan Adventist Choir in Caracas, Venezuela. His recent participation in the U.S. National Competition “Rapido”organized by the Atlanta Chamber Players and sponsored by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, has expanded his expertise in different areas as a Composer.

Some of the Masterpieces Gerson has conducted as a Choir and Orchestra Director include the Opera “Amahl and the Night Visitors” by Gian Carlo Menotti and the Cantata “No Greater Love” by J. Peterson. Gerson has also directed & produced with great success 9 Christmas Musicals seasons uninterrupted since 2008 written by Dennis & Nan Allen, Susan Hammond among others renowned artists.

His Leadership and visionary perspective in music, arts and life inspires and infuses his students to develop the best of their abilities. A natural Improvisator and developer of the talents of who have the opportunity to be around of any of his productions. As an educator bring the most relevant tools to the classroom to stimulate the brain of his disciples encouraging creation to a greater levels of achievement.
