Geoff Fong

My name is Geoffrey Fong. I was born to two loving parents who allowed me to take violin at the age of 4. In elementary school I started playing clarinet in band which brought me up to taking music theory in high school, where I realized how enjoyable writing music could be.

My creative process is to go with the flow. I don’t rush ever, and I believe in myself enough to come up with something usable on command. But of course I take inspiration from the various movies and games that I’ve watched and played. One of my main inspirations is John Williams, who I’ve loved since I was a child and watched Star Wars for the first time.

After I graduate from Berklee I plan on taking a year to just refine and polish my work. Berklee has been a wonderful experience and I’ve learned a lot but I never really felt that I had time to really work on what I wanted to and make the kind of music sound exactly the way I wanted. I’ll also try to do some part time jobs to at least have some income.
