Geoffrey Gastwirth
Frisco, Texas
I was born March 11th 1978 to Lloyd and Barbara Gastwirth at Long Island Jewish Hospital, in New York.
When I was 3, we moved to Dallas Texas, where I have resided for the majority of my life.
I attended a private school, Shelton School from 1st grade through 5th grade. This was a school for children with a multitude of learning disorders including: dyslexia, attention deficit, and cognitive learning development delays.
In 1990, I left Shelton, and attended Brentfield Elementary, then Parkhill Jr. High, then J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas.
After a few painful lessons learned during high school, I needed to find a positive direction for my life. I picked myself up by my bootstraps, and put myself through college while working full time.
After a couple of years in community college, I moved to Denton, Texas to attend the University of North Texas. After exploring a few different majors, I settled on Communication Studies.
In college, I met the love of my life, Amelia Bland of Richardson, Texas. We met through my younger brother Brad. Amelia was the rock I was searching for, and truly the most lovely person I've ever known.
After graduating UNT in 2003, Amelia and I moved back to Dallas. I started my professional career in 2003 (outside my previous work history of telemarketing and pizza delivery), at United Healthcare In Plano, Texas.
For my next job, I made the biggest happy accident by accepting a role at Countrywide Home Loans. At first I was a customer service/sales rep, but quickly transitioned into a training and coaching role.
The culture at Countrywide was abysmal, which prompted me to look for a new job after spending a mandatory year there for the sake of my resume.
I went through the interviewing process at Forrester Research, a MA based research and advisory firm. The role was for a sales account support function.
In June of 2008, I accepted the position at Forrester Research, this was the catalyst which changed my life.
2009: Married Amelia Michelle Bland
2010: Bought a house, and won a sizable jackpot in a high-stakes poker game
2011: Got promoted at work, and on August 2nd, Amelia gave birth to our beautiful daughter, Lillian Jean Gastwirth.
I love my life. What lies beyond, I'm not sure...more travel probably. What I do know is that I have the best family and friends one could ever ask for, and a terrific job.
