Shereen Ghieth graduated from The Egyptian High Cinema Institute in 1996. In order to matriculate her Master’s Degree, she completed a Postgraduate Studies Diploma and she finished her Masters Degree on "The Aesthetic Impact of Sound Effects in Action Movies".She Beginning her professional life when The Nile Thematic TV Channels were being launched, Shereen was hired as a Film Director at The Nile Drama satellite channel in 1996. With the establishment of the Nile News Channel in 1998, Shereen was selected as a Documentary Film Director, a post she held for almost ten years. Following her years at Nile News, Shereen was hired as assistant lecturer at the Egyptian High Cinema Institute, a post she still holds. Early in her career, Shereen was interested in writing and directing documentary and feature films. In her latest project, “ My Rag Doll” (July, 2009) Shereen wrote, directed and was the Executive Producer for Al Jazeera Documentary Channel. “My Rag Doll” was awarded The Silver Prize for Documentary Films at The Gulf Radio And Television Festival in February 2010, It awarded also The Best short Documentary Film at the International Euro Arab Film Festival Amal October 2010 (Aspain), It awarded also The Best short Documentary Film at "Sichuan TV Festival" November 2011(China).The film went on to participate in The 6th Al Jazeera Documentary Film Festival, and it has been selected to the Official Selection International Euro Arab Film Festival Amal in Spain October 2010. Shereen’s select filmography includes "Palm's Whisper" (2006), "Path of Life" (2004-2005) and "China World Factory" (2004-2005), "A Star from the South..Nagaa Hammadi” (2004), "Darfour, the Sun Rises from the West" (2004), and "Egyptian Hymn" (2002). Shereen's works conferred a number of cinematic and creativity awards including Golden Award for Best Documentary for “Palm's Whisper” and The Golden Creativity Award for Best Director from The 12th Cairo Radio and Television Festival. The same documentary, produced by Nile Thematic TV Channels, was awarded the Best Documentary Award from The 13th National Cinema Festival, The Prize of Jury Members from The 1st Nile International Festival For Environmental Films and Special Mention from The Grand Jury of the Jordan Short Film Festival, The Bronze prize from The 2nd International Baghdad Film Festival, and Audience Award from The 10th Arab World Festival for Short Films in Ifrane (Morocco). In addition, the film was awarded Best Documentary Film in the Egyptian Cinema Palace’s Documentary and Feature Films Week 2010, produced by Nile Thematic Channels. “Egyptian Hymn”, produced by Nile News Channel, was selected by URTI (United Radio &Television University) as one of the most important documentary TV productions all over the world in 2002. Shereen’s films have taken her to various parts of the world giving her remarkably unique experiences therein. In 2003, she travelled to Darfour to shoot her film “Darfour, the Sun Rises from the West”. Upon an invitation from The Chinese TV, Shereen travelled to several cities in China to shoot her documentaries “China World Factory” and “Path of Life” in 2004, which were then broadcast by Nile News TV and The Chinese TV. One of Shereen's important documentaries is “The Coming Danger” which handles the problem of destroying mosques in Palestine to replace them with restaurants and bars. The film was shot in Palestine in 2005. Shereen also directed the documentary series “From the Pages of the 20th Century” in 2000. Each episode handled a major event in the 20th century. Another documentary series by Shereen is “Egyptian Souvenirs”, which began when The Nile News Channel was launched and is still running today. Furthermore, she directed many of Nile News Channel’s promos, talk shows, political shows, and special episodes.
