Genene Hooper

My name is Genene E Hooper but friends call me Gigi. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I am still a resident of Georgia today. Some of my hobbies include, shopping, listening to music, traveling and reading. I graduated from Lithonia High School and later attended college at Omnitech and the Art Institute prior to coming to Full Sail University. I came to Full Sail to pursue a career in something that I love, Entertainment! For as long as I can remember I have always been drawn to the entertainment industry, from a little girl I began in dance. I took ballet, jazz, and modern dance up until my junior high year when I became interested in hip hop. Then I began learning hip hop dances and even auditioned to be a MC Hammer dancer only to be told I was too young to tour with his crew (you had to be 16 I was only 14). From there I decided I wanted to be singer so I began writing and practicing with my friends to form a group. Shortly after that I got pregnant and decided to put my dreams on hold to be a model mom for my young daughter who is now 17 and just as much into the entertainment business as I am. Its very fun and exciting watching her turn into a young creative lady, she reminds me so much of myself at her age except I didn't have someone like me in my corner supporting my dreams. I still write music and also help my daughter with learning how to turn her thoughts and experiences into lyrics. I decided that there was no time like the present to start back pursuing my dreams. So, here I am more mature and settled enough in life to pursue my dreams and make my daughters come true as well. I am looking forward to this new direction my life is headed in, and even more excited about the awesome experiences I am sure are to come!
