A long and crooked Education that included Travelling and working in Europe, Western Canada and the States, where I pocketed an incredibly diverse catalogue of characters, settings, and life experiences to draw upon in my writings, and to widen the POV of my photography.

Ripping apart my WASP upbringing were two key factors: being an adoptee with an Irish heritage; and, spending 3 decades as a pseudo-immigrant in the Serbian diaspora.

A formal Education that included an Honors BA in History where I ran into a strange assortment of characters during the Middle Ages, Renaissance, 19th century, and Early 20th century, in exotic locales sunch as The Balkans, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Romania, New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco, France, and London, England. I took the time to understand their Medicine – Plague, Anatomy, Asylums; the Social Outcasts – Heretics, Witches, Adoptees, Foundlings, Orphans, Occult Religions; the elements that weaved their Culture together – Film History, Film Studies, Book Trade, Bookselling, Visual Arts, Photography,

I picked up a couple of minors on my way out the door in Visual Arts and Film Studies.

I stopped long enough to produce a few back-breaking essays as, ‘The Black Death’, ‘Averroism and Marsilius of Padua’, and ‘Sergei Eisenstein and the Russian Cinema’.
